Hey, all – special greetings from Project 20! So great to provide this update on what’s happening in and around ALIVE’s
Project 20! I want to start with my favorite quote from Pastor Tom:
“PROJECT 20 is more than just a goal -- it is a philosophical change in thinking, programming, and DNA here at ALIVE.”
Project 20 is changing everything. 20 new Christ-centered communities in 10 years – this is a God-sized vision for
all of us. The clock started in 2022 so let’s see what the Lord has been doing so far. He has brought us 3 church planters -- for West Greenville, Spartanburg, and Fort Mill. Jason, Connor, and Zach are working hard to continue their journeys to establish their newly formed and forming Christ-centered communities in their cities.
In addition, we are pleased to announce that Grant Mills has been appointed pastor at Mount Moriah Wesleyan church, in Candler, NC, our P20 strategic partner just across the border in NC. God is truly blessing our ability to bring gifted leaders to locations that need new and healthy Christ-centered community.
Just recently, Project 20 has engaged in a partnership to support and coach a Hispanic Church Planting Network in the Greenville-Spartanburg (GSP) corridor, anticipating that this partnership will yield several new Project 20 Christ-centered
Hispanic communities over the next few years. This initiative will recruit, train and deploy Hispanic church planters and we are partnering through ALIVE’s Project 20, the SC District of the Wesleyan church and the United Wesleyan church. We are sowing this seed and providing this training in anticipation of a future Project 20 Kingdom harvest.
In August, ALIVE Pelzer has opened its doors to share its space with a Wesleyan multicultural ministry that has the potential to progress into a fully functioning Christ-centered community under Project 20. Here, we will share the resources
that God has given us and see what He will bring as a result of Kingdom generosity and partnership.
Planting churches is hard work – it’s challenging, foundational and eternally rewarding work. We strongly believe that healthy churches need healthy teams. So, what if we didn’t just send a planter, but a whole team of people to see the kingdom expand across the Upstate and beyond?
To answer this question, we have started Project 20 Connect – on the first Sunday of each month at the ALIVE Central campus. We will provide an opportunity for you to learn more, interact with the church planting team, and explore what God is saying to you about what it looks like to be part of planting these new Christ-centered communities. On first Sundays, look for the Project 20 team in the lobby and check us out in Room 205 immediately following your preferred service time for a power-packed 10 minute connect. Come and see how 10 minutes of your time can change someone else’s eternity! Project 20 is changing hearts and lives across the Upstate of South Carolina and beyond. Your faithful, regular giving at ALIVE is giving us the resources to vigorously pursue Project 20.
Your prayers and special financial support are super-charging this God-breathed effort to bring the good news of Jesus to the spiritually hungry people in our “Judea, Samaria and the ends of the earth.” With all of our heart, we thank the Lord for this vision and that He is making it possible. And, we say “thank you” to you for the vital role you have in making Project 20
come alive. Thank you for making a difference.
