Alive Wesleyan Church exists to reach spiritually hungry people and introduce them to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and an active role in the Christian community.
It is our hopes that this pages answers three basic questions. We want to make sure that you understand the personality of the church. We love God, love people, and would love for you to join us.
Our story is one of a group of believers desiring to follow God and inviting others to follow Him.
1893
The story of ALIVE Wesleyan Church begins in 1893 when a group of believers, following a tent revival, felt led to start a church. Since this beginning, generations of families have served this body of believers and given this community a strong heritage of faith. ALIVE Wesleyan Church has always been passionate about reaching spiritually hungry people in South Carolina and around the world. ALIVE Wesleyan is proud of the foundation that God has given us to build upon.
2004
In 2004, the people of then First Wesleyan Church felt God calling them to reach farther into their community. As a result of their obedience to God's voice, the ALIVE service was born. ALIVE began as a Sunday morning service designed to reach spiritually hungry people. The church experienced a new opportunity to reach people in the community and God began to change lives.
2012
In August, 2008, the church purchased 39 acres of land for the future construction of a new church campus and in January 2012 broke ground to begin construction of a new facility on Chastain Road. Also in 2012, the church made another history-making decision, changing its name to ALIVE Wesleyan Church.
2013
In 2013, ALIVE Wesleyan Church moved locations for the second time in its over 120-year history. God has continued to allow ALIVE Wesleyan to reach into the surrounding communities and we are continuing to look for the next steps of faith God calls us to.
2015
During the summer of 2015, Pleasant View Wesleyan Church in Belton approached ALIVE about the possibility of partnering with as a satellite campus. After meeting with the people of Pleasant View there was an immediate connection to their heart to reach spiritually hungry people in their community. In March of 2016 preparations began to launch ALIVE’s first satellite campus ALIVE Wesleyan, Pleasant View Campus in the community of Belton.
2018
In order to continue to be effective in reaching our community and be a place where kids, students, and adults come ALIVE, we have begun constructing an expansion of our Children's facilities. This expansion includes an increase of small group and large group spaces, additional office space, a new playground site and recreational pieces, as well as increased classroom for The Growing Place.
Our story is one of God faithfully leading his children. We invite you to join our ongoing story as it continues to be written.
