Sermon Notes
Revival — Heal Their Land
Revival is spiritual saturation.
2 Chronicles 7:14
if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
If my people . . .
Humble themselves
Pray
Seek my face
Turn from wicked ways
Then....
I will hear
Forgive their sin
Heal their land
Before we can witness a big move of God, He’ll ask us to obey Him in something small.
Romans 1:16-17
For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. 17 For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, “The righteous shall live by faith.”
Ephesians 2:8-9
8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast.
Before God uses us to call out sins in our culture, He’ll call out sins in our lives.
Matthew 7:3-5
3 “Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? 4 How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? 5 You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.
Before God can heal our land, we have to let him come in and heal our hearts.
When God brings forgiveness and healing, when God chooses to saturate a people with his glorious presence, he doesn’t start out there with a people who do not acknowledge him. He starts in here, he starts with “my people,” people in churches. God starts with Christians who repent.

2 Chronicles 7:14
14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
Conviction – When God makes me aware of my sin and gives me the grace to change
“God has told us what He cares about most. He’s spelled out for us the things that actually cause Him grief, that make Him weep. And yet here we are, disregarding the unity His son gave His life to secure and attacking each other over things that are irrelevant”
- Francis Chan
“One of the mistakes I see time and time again in the pursuit of unity (among other pursuits) is that everyone wants to jump to the macro-scale. I am sure that many of these people have good intentions. They want to get the message to as many people as possible; they want to see revival. But all too often, the message to the masses is robbed of its power because it’s not accompanied by a life that reflects its power.
- Francis Chan
Before God can heal our land, we have to let him come in and heal our hearts.
Psalm 143:8
“Show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life.”
Because healing starts with repentance.
Before the Holy Spirit gets a hold of a whole community He gets a hold of individuals who are a part of that community.
Before we can witness a big move of God, He’ll ask us to obey Him in something small.
(humble ourselves, seek his face, pray)
Before God uses us to call out sins in our culture, He’ll call out sins in our lives.
(humble ourselves, turn from wicked ways, he forgives)
Before God can heal our land, we have to let him come in and heal our hearts.
(he hears, he forgives sin, heals the land)
