Sermon Notes

I thank my God.

Joy is internal not external.

2 Corinthians 4:16 Therefore, we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.

Philippians 1:9-11 And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God.

John 4:13-14And I will do whatever you ASK in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. You may ask for anything in my name, and I will do it.

Joy is found in an intimate knowledge of the savior.

Philippians 1:9 And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight.

Joy shifts my perspective and moves me in the right direction.

John 16:33 I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.

Philippians 1:12-14 Now I want you to know, brothers and sisters, that what has happened to me has actually served to advance the gospel. As a result, it has become clear throughout the whole palace guard and to everyone else that I am in chains for Christ. And because of my chains, most of the brothers and sisters have become confident in the Lord and dare all the more to proclaim the gospel without fear.

Joy empowers us to live life to the full.

Philippians 1:21 For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.

“Sometimes when you find yourself in a dark place you think you’ve been buried, but you’ve actually been planted.” Christine Caine

Psalm 16:11 You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
